The Longhorn
About The Longhorn
Okanagan Landing keeps its own identity, several kilometres west of the downtown core, out where the lake finally ends and the old steamboat port used to unload. The Longhorn serves that side of Vernon from 4513 25 Ave, among the streets that fill in behind the beaches and the marina.
A pub in a neighbourhood like this one draws differently through the year. Across July and August the beaches fill and so does everywhere within reach of them; the rest of the year the room belongs to the people who live nearby. That swing is the single most useful thing to know before turning up, because a summer Saturday and a wet Tuesday in November are not the same place, and a phone call is the quickest way to find out which one you are walking into.
Beyond that, the questions worth asking are the ordinary ones. Whether there is a kitchen and how late it runs, whether a patio is open, whether the room takes bookings for a group or works first come first served, and what the arrangement is for anyone under nineteen. Getting home is the other item to plan. The Landing is a proper drive from most of Vernon, over toward the water and away from the highway, so sort out the ride before the first round rather than after the last. Find The Longhorn at 4513 25 Ave in Okanagan Landing.
