A taproom is not quite a pub. The room usually belongs to the equipment behind it, the lineup shifts as tanks empty and refill, and a fair share of the trade walks back out with something to take home rather than drinking it there. That makes for a different sort of evening than a bar working from a fixed list.
BNA Brewery is at 1714 Kalamalka Lake Road, on the East Hill side of the city, where the ground slopes up from the centre and the older houses look out toward both lakes. Breweries vary a great deal in how much hospitality they run alongside the brewing itself. Some pour flights and fill growlers and little else, others put a full kitchen behind the bar, and the rules about who can come in, and until what hour, differ from one to the next.
It is worth a call before making it the plan for an evening, particularly if you are bringing children, a large group, or arriving late. Ask what is pouring rather than what is printed, since seasonal batches come and go on their own schedule, and ask about takeaway formats if you want to carry something back out to Okanagan Landing or up onto the Commonage. Summer brings visitors up the valley, and the room will be busier then than in the quiet middle of a Vernon winter.
