About Pallino's Italian Bistro
Italian cooking earned its place in small cities partly because it flexes. The same kitchen can send out a plate of pasta for a child, a long dinner for a table of eight and a quiet meal for two without changing what it fundamentally is, which is why it travels so well. Pallino's Italian Bistro serves from 107 Village Centre Crt, out in the Commonage country south of Vernon.
Dining outside the city grid asks for a little planning. The Commonage is rolling, open land where acreages and golf country have grown up alongside one another, and a table out here means roughly a twenty minute drive from downtown rather than a walk along the main street. A reservation is the obvious safeguard, particularly in summer when the whole valley is busy and again on a holiday weekend. Menus and booking details are kept on the dining pages at predatorridge.com, which is the quickest way to check before setting out.
There is a good argument for making the trip in either direction. Visitors staying out this way get a proper dinner without driving back into the city, and people who live in Vernon get an evening that feels like leaving town without really going anywhere. The view over the valley does a fair share of the work. Winter changes the calculation, since the road up out of the valley bottom holds snow when the downtown streets are merely wet, so allow more time and check conditions before committing to a late booking. Dietary requirements and large groups are better raised when you book than at the table.
