About Twisted Chopsticks
Lunch downtown gets decided in a fairly small radius, since the shops, offices and services in Penticton cluster into a handful of blocks. Twisted Chopsticks keeps an address at 449 Main St, in a building shared with another business.
Restaurants along a main street tend to run two operations at once, one for the room and one for the bag going out the door. If you are ordering to take away, phoning first and asking how long the kitchen needs will usually save you standing around, particularly through the summer when the sidewalks are busy. Groups are worth calling ahead for as well, and anyone eating around an allergy or a dietary restriction is better served asking the kitchen directly than guessing from a line on a menu.
The 400 block of Main sits in the heart of the commercial core, a few streets back from the Okanagan Lake beaches and within walking distance of the channel entrance. Downtown Penticton is compact by design, with the side streets carrying as much as the main one and parking that stays manageable even in high season. Traffic through here swells from June onward, peaks around the Peach Festival in the middle of August, and settles back to the steady rhythm of a regional service centre once the visitors thin out. In the quieter months a quick call before heading out is time well spent.
