About Koi Sushi
Sharing a building with half a dozen other businesses is ordinary in the streets near Kelowna's university campus, and Koi Sushi does exactly that at 3272 University Way, in the corridor northeast of Glenmore where the benches begin to climb away from the valley floor.
Getting there means driving for most people. Kelowna spreads along the lake and up the slopes rather than sitting in a tight grid, and the hillside northeast is a fair distance from the waterfront and from Rutland alike. Once you arrive, a shared address is worth a moment of attention, since the door you want may not be the one facing the parking lot. There is a website as well, which is the quickest way to settle details before making the drive up the hill.
Sushi counters differ more than their menus suggest. Some lean on raw fish, others build most of their trade on rolls, rice bowls and cooked plates, and pickup timing runs anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour once a lunch rush is on. If you are ordering for a group, phoning ahead saves standing around, and it is worth asking how long a large order needs. Anyone eating with someone who avoids raw fish should ask what cooked choices exist before the whole table commits to one order.
