About Frakas Boutique
Boutique is a word that gets stretched, but at its most useful it means a shop small enough that one person's taste runs through the whole rail. Frakas Boutique is at 3155 Lakeshore Road in Pandosy, on the run of low-rise shops between the village crossroads and the beaches further south.
Shopping at this scale works differently from a department store. Sizing is inconsistent across the labels an independent carries, so trying things on is not really optional, and stock arrives in small runs that do not come back once they have sold through. The compensation is that someone in the shop generally knows what is on the rail and can pull three things you would never have picked yourself. A call to 250 762 2234 ahead of a trip is worth the minute if you need a size held or want to know whether the new season has landed, and the same applies before driving in from the hillside districts on a busy weekend.
Pandosy has kept the feel of a lakeside village even as the city grew around it, with apartments and low-rise commercial mixed together and the water never more than a couple of blocks away. Retail here leans toward the browsing kind rather than the errand kind. Summer trade is heavy: beach traffic on Lakeshore Road slows to a crawl on hot afternoons and the parking near the water goes early in the day. Off season, it is one of the pleasanter places in Kelowna to spend an hour on foot.
