About Aldila
Sharing a street number is normal along the older commercial stretches of the Okanagan, and 3155 Lakeshore Rd is one of those addresses, home to Aldila and three other businesses. The building sits on the run of Lakeshore Road heading south out of the Pandosy village toward the Lower Mission beaches, so it saves a lap of the parking lot to know which storefront or unit you want before you arrive.
Clothing shops away from the big retail complexes trade on selection rather than volume. Stock arrives in small runs and turns over with the seasons, which in this valley means light layers and sun protection for the long hot stretch from June through September, then a quick shift to wool and rain shells once the weather greys over. Sizing, alterations, holds and return windows vary a great deal from one shop to another, and none of that is standard across the trade, so ask directly if you are buying for an occasion or sending something on to another city. When you are hunting for one specific piece, a call before the drive saves the most time of anything you can do.
The Pandosy and Lower Mission corridor is a comfortable place to shop on foot once the car is parked, with the lake a block or two west and plenty of cafes and restaurants scattered through the same few blocks. From downtown Kelowna it is a short drive south along Pandosy Street or Lakeshore Road. From Rutland or Black Mountain, budget more time than the map suggests, because crossing the city on a summer afternoon is slower than the distance implies.
