Dry Cleaning
Eco Clean
About Eco Clean
Dry cleaning is one of those trades most people only think about under pressure, usually with a wedding, an interview or a court date somewhere in the next few days. Eco Clean works from 1950 Harvey Ave, a commercial address on the Dilworth side of Kelowna shared with a couple of other businesses.
The useful thing to understand about the trade is that not everything goes through the same process. Suits, coats and structured garments are cleaned in solvent and pressed; shirts are usually laundered and finished separately; and household items such as duvets, drapes and area rugs are handled on their own schedule and often take longer. Turnaround is the question that matters most, and it is worth asking straight out rather than assuming, because same day service where it exists normally depends on getting the garment in early. Point out stains when you drop off, say what caused them if you know, and mention anything delicate: beading, leather trim, an unusual lining. A cleaner who knows what they are dealing with has better odds than one working it out at the press.
Location helps in a city built for driving. The Harvey corridor cuts across the middle of Kelowna, within reach of the hillside streets around Dilworth Mountain, the Glenmore neighbourhoods to the north and the wider northeast, which makes a drop off easy to fold into other errands. Seasons shape the work as well. The Okanagan runs hot and dry through the summer and grey rather than snowy through a short winter, so heavy coats and bedding tend to come in at the shoulders of the year while lighter, faster work carries the warm months.
