The Belair
About The Belair
Vernon draws visitors for reasons that shift with the calendar. Summer brings people to the beaches at either end of the city, on Okanagan Lake to the west and Kalamalka Lake to the east; winter brings skiers heading for the hill on the skyline; and through the rest of the year the traffic is quieter and more practical, built out of medical appointments, government business and family visits. The Belair takes in that whole range from 3504 32 Street.
Downtown accommodation trades on being able to leave the car parked. From the core, most of what a visitor needs is within walking distance: the main street shops, the restaurants, and Polson Park at the edge of the commercial blocks. When calling ahead, the questions that matter are the practical ones. Ask about parking, about how many beds are in the room rather than how many people it sleeps, about whether the rate covers breakfast, and about the cancellation window if plans are still loose. The phone number is 250-545-2148.
Rates and availability across the North Okanagan swing hard with the season. A midweek night in late October is a different proposition from a Saturday in July, when the lakes fill and beds get spoken for well in advance up and down the valley. Booking early for summer is simply sensible, and so is asking about longer-stay arrangements if the visit runs past a few nights. The Belair is at 3504 32 Street in downtown Vernon, on the flat below East Hill.
