About Wesbert Winery
Naramata Road climbs northeast out of Penticton along the eastern shore of Okanagan Lake, past vineyards planted on the bench above the water. Wesbert Winery sits at 1465 Naramata Road, with information posted at wesbertwinery.com.
A winery visit is worth a little preparation. Tasting rooms on the bench keep seasonal hours, and some ask groups to book rather than arrive unannounced, particularly through the busiest weeks of summer and during the crush in early autumn. Fees, whether they are waived against a purchase, what can be shipped and where, and whether there is somewhere to sit with a glass are all sensible things to establish by phone or through a website before setting out. If you are visiting several properties in one day, remember that someone has to drive.
The bench is a short run from downtown Penticton, close enough that visitors staying in the city treat it as an afternoon rather than an expedition. The road is narrow in places, popular with cyclists, and the views over the lake are the reason a lot of people take it slowly. Wine, fruit growing and tourism are the three legs the local economy stands on, and this stretch of hillside carries all three at once. Back in town the beaches, the channel between the two lakes and the shops along Main Street are waiting, Kelowna lies up the lake to the north, and Oliver and Osoyoos are down the highway to the south.

Where to shop in Penticton: small, walkable and mostly local
Penticton's shopping is smaller than Kelowna's and more its own thing: a Main Street of independents, specialty food shops that outclass their size, and Cherry Lane covering the mall tier.
