About City Centre Gym
Winter in the South Okanagan is mild by Canadian standards but short on daylight, and the months when the lake is too cold to swim in are the months a gym earns its keep. City Centre Gym is at 247 Martin St, one street over from the Main Street run through downtown Penticton.
Gyms differ in ways that only matter once you are inside one. The balance of free weights against machines, whether classes are included or booked separately, whether there is staff on the floor at the hours you actually train, and whether the change rooms can handle a rush all shape the experience far more than the sign outside. Anyone new to a place should ask about a trial visit or a day pass before signing anything longer.
Membership terms are the other question worth putting directly, because summer changes behaviour here. Come July a good part of the city moves its exercise outdoors, onto the beaches, the channel and the hills above town, and a commitment that made sense in January can sit unused through the hottest weeks. A central address helps on that front, since 247 Martin St is walkable from most of the downtown blocks and parking around it is nothing like the ordeal it would be in a larger city.

Where to shop in Penticton: small, walkable and mostly local
Penticton's shopping is smaller than Kelowna's and more its own thing: a Main Street of independents, specialty food shops that outclass their size, and Cherry Lane covering the mall tier.
