Most households out here run more than one vehicle, and rarely a new one. A work truck, a winter beater, a quad or a sled, sometimes a tractor and a trailer, all kept going well past the point a city owner would have traded up. The useful conversation to have with any garage is about scope. Mechanical repair covers a wide field, and shops naturally end up stronger in some corners than others: engine and driveline work, brakes and steering, cooling systems, electrical faults, exhaust, air conditioning, tires, and provincial vehicle inspections. Booking ahead of those waves rather than into them is the difference between a week and a day. And when a vehicle is going to sit while a part comes up the highway from the coast or the valley, arranging your ride in advance beats standing in a parking lot working it out.
