Being an hour from the larger supply houses means a component sometimes has to come up the highway, which can turn a same-day job into an overnight one, and knowing that in advance lets you arrange a ride instead of sitting in a waiting room. Asking for a call before any additional work is authorised is a reasonable request anywhere and a common one here.
