Car Washes
Foisy Car Wash
About Foisy Car Wash
Gravel roads, road salt and a long muddy shoulder season make a car wash more than a cosmetic stop in the White Valley. Trucks here spend their time on logging roads, farm driveways and the salted stretch of Highway 6 between Lumby and Vernon, and all three leave something behind that shortens the life of a vehicle. Foisy Car Wash serves that everyday need in the village.
Most rural car washes run on self-serve bays with a coin or card timer, a pressure wand, a foam brush and a cycle of soap, rinse and wax, and some add a vacuum island or a bay tall enough for a pickup with a canopy or a small trailer. That last detail is the one people forget to check. If you are washing a dually, a truck with a roof rack, a horse trailer or a sled deck, confirm the bay clearance before you pull in and discover otherwise.
A few habits make the money go further. Bring your own coins or check what payment the bays take, run the underbody rinse first in winter when salt is the real enemy, and do the wheels and lower panels before the paint so the grit is gone before you touch the finish. Cold matters here too, because a Monashee winter will freeze door seals and locks if you drive off soaking wet, so give the vehicle a minute and wipe the seals before you close everything up. Spring, right after breakup, is when a wash earns the most.
