About T-Bone's
T-Bone's is a neighbourhood grocery shop at 4624 Lakeshore Road in the Lower Mission, on the run of Lakeshore that serves the residential streets between the beaches and the Mission Creek greenway. The name suggests a serious meat counter, and whether or not that turns out to be the main draw, it is worth asking about on a first visit.
Neighbourhood grocers earn their place on convenience and on the odd request a bigger store will not bother with, whether that is a particular cut, a specific weight, or an order held aside for a certain day. The trade off with a small shop is size, since it cannot stock ten versions of everything, so it is worth asking directly whether something can be brought in if you want it on a regular basis. If you are feeding a crowd, more notice generally gets a better result than a same day request.
Timing matters more at a small shop than at a large one. Summer long weekends are busy for food businesses across the Okanagan, and the run up to Thanksgiving and Christmas is busier still, when small shops across the valley work through lists of orders placed well ahead of time. Getting a request in early is the simplest way to avoid disappointment. The Mission is an easy run down Lakeshore from Pandosy, and if you are already heading to the beach on a summer afternoon, folding the stop into that trip beats making the same drive twice.
