About Lakview Market
Every neighbourhood grocer earns its keep on the trips too small to justify a supermarket: a loaf of bread, or the one thing forgotten on the way to the beach.
Lakview Market fills that role from 3033 Pandosy St, in the lakeside village stretch south of downtown Kelowna. Pandosy is one of the few parts of the city where walking genuinely works, with low-rise shops, apartments and access points to the water within a few blocks of one another, so a market there sits inside the daily routine of nearby households rather than at the end of a drive.
Small stores and large ones play to different strengths. A neighbourhood grocer wins on speed and on simply being there when you need it, often on items a chain will not bother with, while the big lots out on the arterials win on breadth. In an orchard valley it is also worth asking what comes in locally through the harvest months, since fruit and produce travel short distances here from late summer onward. If you are stocking up before a day at the water, go early. Pandosy and the shore streets get busy on hot afternoons, and the parking near the beaches is gone long before the sun is.
