About Sushi Sai
Ordering food for a group works better when you settle a few practical points before you call: how far ahead a large order needs to go in, since kitchens assembling food to order cannot absorb a last minute surprise, and whether anyone in the group has a dietary restriction worth mentioning up front. Sushi Sai takes that call at 1607 Ellis Street, a block back from the waterfront in downtown Kelowna, close enough to the parks and the office blocks to catch both the lunch crowd and the evening one.
Restaurants in a walkable core like this one serve a mix of people throughout the day, from a fast lunch crowd on a break to a slower evening sitting, and it helps to know which one you are walking into. Some places run mostly on counter service, some seat you and bring courses out over an hour, and plenty shift between the two depending on the time of day. A quick look through the door, or a question over the phone, settles it faster than guessing from the sign.
Downtown parking is the usual downtown problem, worst on summer evenings when the waterfront fills and every table in the core is spoken for. Street spaces near Ellis turn over reasonably outside those hours, and the lots a couple of blocks inland are a safer bet in July. The number is 236-420-1514, and sushisaikelowna.com is the place to start if you want to look before you go. If you are staying by the lake, the walk in from the waterfront blocks is short enough to leave the car where it is.
