Packing House Pub
About Packing House Pub
Fruit packing built this valley long before wine and tourism did, and the name over the door at 663 Finns Rd nods to that older Kelowna. Packing House Pub works from that road on the Rutland side of the city, the large northeast district that keeps its own busy town centre strip and some of the more affordable housing in the region. Calls go to 250 765 0667, and there is a page for it at woodsmangroup.com.
A neighbourhood pub does several jobs at once. It is somewhere to eat, somewhere to watch a game and somewhere to end up on a Friday, and the balance between those shifts by the hour. Pub kitchens tend to run a familiar menu, and drinks lists in this part of the province lean on Okanagan wine and on the craft beer that has spread through the valley over the past couple of decades. If you are planning a larger group, a birthday, a team night or a family gathering, ask about booking a section and about whether food orders need to go in ahead.
Rutland sits away from the tourist strip along the lake, which usually means a more local room and easier parking than the downtown blocks offer. Getting there from the Mission or Kettle Valley is a genuine drive across the city, so build the outing around one destination rather than stapling it onto a lake day. As anywhere in the valley, if you are drinking, sort the ride home first, because taxi and rideshare supply thins out late on summer weekends.
