Mucho Burrito
About Mucho Burrito
South of downtown the city softens into the Pandosy village, a low rise run of shops and apartments a couple of blocks back from the beaches, and Mucho Burrito is part of that strip at 3030 Pandosy Street. The building holds a couple of other businesses as well, which is normal along this stretch where narrow frontages sit shoulder to shoulder.
Burrito counters are built around assembly, and that shapes how best to use one. Orders are usually made in front of you along a line, which means a queue moves quickly but a large order slows everything behind it. Most places in this line handle burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas from the same set of components, with the choices happening at the counter rather than on a printed page. Ordering ahead for pickup is common in this trade and is easiest set up before a lunch rush rather than during one, and the location page at muchoburrito.com is the place to start if you want to skip the line on a short break.
Pandosy is a walking district by Kelowna standards. Residents of the Lower Mission and the apartment blocks near the lake arrive on foot, and the parking that does exist is a mix of small lots and street spaces that fill fast on hot afternoons when the beaches are busy. Summer is the busy season here by a wide margin, and the evening crowd around the village peaks in July and August. Driving down from downtown is short but slow at those hours, and the bike routes through the neighbourhood are well used for exactly that reason.
