About Latin Fiesta
Highway 33 is the main line through Rutland, carrying traffic between the northeast side of Kelowna and the country beyond it, and a good share of the district's everyday commerce sits within sight of the road.
Latin Fiesta is on that route at 400 33 Hwy. Rutland is one of the largest residential areas in the city and runs its own town centre strip rather than leaning on downtown, so a meal here is a local errand for tens of thousands of people and a short hop for anyone coming across from Glenmore or down off Black Mountain.
Latin American cooking is a continent wide, and kitchens under that banner can be doing very different things. Mexican, Salvadoran, Peruvian, Colombian and Brazilian traditions share little beyond a language, and the way a place handles heat, corn, beans and grilled meat tells you quickly which one is in the pans. Ask what the kitchen leans toward before ordering broadly, and ask about portion sizes if you are feeding a table, since sharing plates are normal in some traditions and firmly individual in others. For takeout on a weekday evening, phoning ahead is the difference between waiting in the car and walking straight back out with the bag.
