About frock & fellow
Further along Bernard Avenue from the waterfront, past the busiest restaurant blocks, the street settles into smaller frontages and independent shops. frock & fellow holds one of them, at 441 Bernard Avenue in the downtown core, a few minutes on foot from the lake at the bottom of the hill.
Independent clothing shops work to a different rhythm from the chains. Buying is done in smaller runs, so a piece seen once may never come back, and the stock turns with the season rather than to a national calendar. That makes an in person visit worth more than a scroll, and it makes the staff worth talking to, because they generally know what is coming, what can be held and what will move to the sale rack. Sizing across small labels varies enough that trying things on matters, and it is fair to ask about exchange terms before buying, since a small shop sets its own.
Have a look at frockandfellow.ca beforehand to get a sense of the range. Downtown Kelowna rewards a browsing trip, since the shops sit close together and the waterfront parks are a couple of blocks away, so an afternoon can take in more than one errand. Parking near Bernard tightens through the working day and again on summer evenings; the lots a block back are the usual answer. From the Lower Mission or Pandosy the drive north is short, and from Rutland or Black Mountain it is worth picking a time when the Harvey corridor is not at its worst.
