About Flowers By Design
Flowers are one of the few purchases still made almost entirely on trust. You describe an occasion, a budget and a mood, and someone else decides what goes in the vase. Flowers By Design works from 3151 Lakeshore Road in Pandosy, sharing the building with one other business, on the road that follows the shore south out of the village toward the Mission beaches.
Florists differ more than the shop windows suggest. Some build to order from whatever the wholesaler delivered that week, others keep a standing range for hospital visits and last minute apologies, and the better ones will tell you plainly when a flower you have asked for is out of season or will not survive an hour in a hot car. Weddings and funerals are quoted and scheduled differently from everything else, usually starting with a conversation rather than a price. Ask about delivery zones before assuming they reach your corner of the city, and about the cut off time for same day orders, which in this trade is earlier in the day than most people expect.
The growing season here is long and hot, and the valley grows fruit rather than cut flowers at any scale, so much of what a shop in Kelowna sells has travelled to get here. That makes water and a parked car the twin enemies in July, when a bouquet left in a vehicle will not recover. Lakeshore Road is a straightforward run from the Lower Mission and Kettle Valley and an easy stop heading north into town, which is worth knowing if you are collecting an order rather than sending one.
