About EK's Grill
Glenmore Road runs north from the middle of the city through the family neighbourhoods on the valley floor, pointing toward the hillside campus corridor beyond, and EK's Grill sits along it at number 401. Being on a route rather than in a cluster shapes a restaurant: a good share of the trade arrives because it was already passing.
Grill is a broad word, so the useful questions are the practical ones. Ask whether the kitchen does takeout as well as table service, how long an order is running at the hour you plan to arrive, and whether the menu is the same all day, since many places of this kind change what they offer between the lunch and evening trade. If you are catering to a mixed group, it is also worth asking what can be made without gluten or without meat, because the answer at a grill is usually yes but rarely printed.
Glenmore itself is a good place to eat if you live in it and a slightly awkward one if you do not, which is true of most of Kelowna. The city spreads along the lake and up the slopes, so a meal here is an easy walk for the surrounding streets and a deliberate drive from the Mission or Black Mountain. Traffic on the north south routes thickens at the end of the working day and again through the hot dry summer when the valley fills up, and the short grey winter loosens both. Anybody heading up toward the campus or out to the airport can fold a stop into the trip without leaving the road for long, which is a fair part of the appeal of a place in this position.
