About Riley’s Bar and Grill
Deciding where to eat without recrossing the bridge is a small daily calculation on this side of the lake. Cooking is not always in the cards, and a hillside suburb built mostly of houses does not offer many rooms built for exactly that moment: a team landing after a game, neighbours who have never formally met ending up at the same table, or a family that would rather not cook sitting down without any ceremony at all.
Riley's Bar and Grill sits at 1751 Ross Rd in Shannon Lake, the suburban neighbourhood wrapped around its golf course and small lake in the northwest corner of West Kelowna. It is well away from the commercial strip through Westbank, which is much of the appeal for people who live in the surrounding streets and would rather not drive across town and back to eat.
Kitchens in a bar and grill tend to keep broader hours than a dining room and shorter ones than the bar itself, so the last call for food often comes well before closing. Other details vary from one house to the next: whether minors can be seated on the dining side, whether there is a patio for the summer, how the room handles a large group or a busy night of sport on the screens. A call ahead settles all of it, and if you are new to this side of the lake, Ross Rd is easier to find in daylight than on a first attempt after dark.
