Coming back from the beach with hungry children in the car is one of the reliable summer situations on the west side, and it tends to end at a counter somewhere along the Westbank strip rather than at a stove.

The point is speed and predictability, which is why they cluster on the busiest roads and why they matter most to people caught between other things: a shift change, a drive south to Peachland, a Saturday of errands with the back seat full. What any particular location offers by way of seating, a drive through lane, patio space or later hours is worth checking if it is going to decide your evening, because two places under the same sign are rarely run identically.
DQ Grill and Chill sits at 2557 Dobbin Road, on the commercial run through Westbank that carries most of the through traffic on this side of the lake. That position makes it a natural pause for anyone heading toward Peachland or queued up for the bridge, and a short hop from much of the surrounding housing. Summer in this valley is long and hot, and the appetite for something cold in the evening lasts well past the hour when the lake itself has emptied out.
