About Cherry Pit
A quick stop for something to eat is a different errand from going out for dinner, and Westbank is where most of the west side handles it. Cherry Pit is at 2565 Main St in the historic core, sharing the address with one other business, on the compact commercial stretch that predates the subdivisions climbing the hills behind it.
Casual food counters are built for turnaround, and the useful questions are the ones about logistics rather than the ones about cooking. Seating inside against takeaway only, whether there is a patio, how an order for a group is handled, how much notice a larger order needs and whether delivery runs through an application are all things that differ from one place to another. Anyone with a dietary restriction does better asking directly than reading between the lines, and anyone on a lunch break should find out how long an order actually takes before committing to the wait.
The Westbank rhythm is worth planning around. The strip carries commuter traffic toward the highway and the bridge, so the shoulders of the day move faster than the middle of it, and summer adds a steady flow of visitors heading down to Gellatly Bay and the beaches. Parking along the historic core is closer to street side than to a mall lot, and a space two minutes further back usually beats waiting for one at the door. If you are combining the stop with other errands in this part of town, most of what you need sits within a short walk of the same block.
