About Crown and Thieves
A liquor store errand on the west side is rarely just about thirst. It is the bottle grabbed on the way to someone else's dinner table, the case loaded for a long weekend at the beach, or the gift that still needs wrapping, and on this side of the lake there is a fair chance whatever ends up in the bag was grown within sight of the shop.
Places selling drink to take away vary more than their shopfronts suggest. Some lean hard on what is made nearby, some range broadly across regions and countries, and the ones people come back to tend to be the ones where somebody behind the counter asks what you are eating before pointing at a shelf. Availability moves as well, since small runs sell out and seasonal releases come and go, so it pays to ask rather than assume the same thing will be waiting next month.
Crown and Thieves can be found at 3887C Brown Road, in the streets between the Westbank strip and the lake, close enough to Gellatly Bay to fit neatly into an afternoon that ends at the shoreline. The number is +1-778-754-6968 and crownthieves.com is the place to look first. Summer weekends on the west side are busy from the bridge onward, so an earlier stop generally beats a later one, particularly if the plan involves getting anywhere near the water.
