Gymnastics asks for equipment that no basement can hold: sprung floors, beams set at height, bars, and pits deep enough to make a bad landing survivable. That is why the sport gathers into clubs rather than spreading across living rooms, and why a club space is usually a tall open room somewhere near the middle of town. North Valley Gymnastics Society works out of 4700 31 Street in downtown Vernon, inside the grid of numbered streets that most of the North Okanagan already knows how to navigate.
Programs in this line generally run in terms rather than as drop in sessions, with preschool movement classes at one end, recreational classes for school age kids in the middle, and competitive streams for the ones who want to train several days a week. Registration windows matter more here than they do at a fitness club, since a class that fills in September may not open again until the next term begins.
