About Bonsai Bagles
Bagels are a morning business and a finite one. What comes out of the oven early is what there is, and by the middle of the afternoon the choice has narrowed to whatever nobody wanted at eight. Anyone who has turned up late hoping for a dozen has learned that lesson the hard way at least once.
Bonsai Bagles is at 3002 41 Ave, in the downtown core. Bakeries working at this scale generally bake through the early hours against a fixed count, which is why ordering ahead matters so much more here than at a shop that can simply pull more stock out of the back. For an office run, or a weekend breakfast with a house full of visitors, a day of notice usually changes what is possible.
The useful questions are simple ones: how much notice a large order needs, whether anything can be set aside for pickup, and what comes out later in the day as well as first thing in the morning. Vernon fills up through the summer with people who came for the lakes and the rail trail, and mornings in the core get correspondingly busier while they are here. Through the colder months the pace settles back into something more local, which is when a walk in for a half dozen is least likely to disappoint.
