About Wheatgrass Cafe
Coffee is an errand and an excuse in equal measure, and downtown Penticton supplies plenty of reasons for both. Wheatgrass Cafe keeps a Main Street address in the commercial core, a few blocks back from the Okanagan Lake beaches and the entrance to the river channel. That places it inside the part of the city where most of the daily foot traffic happens, near the shops and offices that draw people in from Oliver, Keremeos and the smaller communities south and west.
The building holds three other businesses alongside this one, which is ordinary for the older blocks of the core and useful to know when you are watching for the door. Getting here is not complicated. Parking is straightforward by the standards of a larger city, and the downtown grid is compact enough that a coffee stop slots in between other errands rather than demanding a trip of its own. In summer, when the channel fills with people drifting from Okanagan Lake down to Skaha, the whole area runs busier and later in the day than it does the rest of the year.
Cafes differ from one another more than people expect. Some are built around a full kitchen and a lunch crowd, others around espresso and a counter, and the seating, the patio tables and the quiet corners that suit an hour of laptop work all vary from one place to the next. Seasonal swings are real in a valley town, so a call ahead is the sensible move if you are driving in from the district for something specific, or if you need room for a group. Worth asking about: what the kitchen sends out, whether there is outdoor seating, and how heavy the middle of the day tends to run.

Penticton's shopping is smaller than Kelowna's and more its own thing: a Main Street of independents, specialty food shops that outclass their size, and Cherry Lane covering the mall tier.
