About Angry Vegan
Plant-based cooking has settled into the ordinary run of Okanagan eating rather than sitting off to one side of it, and a small kitchen working that way usually builds from scratch instead of adapting something else. That tends to show up as a short list of dishes that shifts with what the season makes available, which is a different proposition from a long menu that never changes.
Angry Vegan is at 536 Main Street, in the downtown blocks where most of Penticton's independent food is concentrated, a few minutes on foot from the Okanagan Lake beach and the entrance to the channel. The phone number is 250-809-7610. Main Street here is easy to work on foot, and this is the sort of stop people fold into a walk between the water and the shops rather than driving to on its own.
Small rooms have small capacities, which is the thing to plan around in July and August when the city fills up. Calling ahead for a larger group, or for anything you want to take away, saves a good deal of standing about. If someone in your party has an allergy as well as a dietary preference, say so when you order rather than assuming the two overlap. Seasonal swings are real in a lake town, and a downtown kitchen in February looks nothing like the same kitchen during festival week.

Where to shop in Penticton: small, walkable and mostly local
Penticton's shopping is smaller than Kelowna's and more its own thing: a Main Street of independents, specialty food shops that outclass their size, and Cherry Lane covering the mall tier.
