About Valley Hemp Co
Retail downtown here works best on foot, one block at a time, which is how most of these shops end up finding their customers. Valley Hemp Co occupies 326 Main St, in the middle stretch of the principal shopping street.
Independent clothing shops turn stock over in a way the chains do not, running smaller runs and shifting the racks with the season. That makes a phone call worthwhile if you are hunting for a particular size or a specific item, and it makes a second visit a genuinely different experience from the first. Ask what can be ordered in, how exchanges and returns are handled, and whether anything is held back for regulars. In a tourist town the summer racks and the winter racks are answering to two quite different crowds.
The 300 block of Main falls between the north end of the street, which points toward the Okanagan Lake beaches, and the wider commercial spread further south. Penticton keeps its downtown walkable and its parking sane, and the side streets carry shops of their own, so browsing here does not require moving the car. Foot traffic builds steadily from June, peaks through the Peach Festival in mid August, and drops back once the beach crowd goes home. Shops on this street feel both of those seasons, and hours often shift with them, which is reason enough to ring before making a special trip in from out of town.

Where to shop in Penticton: small, walkable and mostly local
Penticton's shopping is smaller than Kelowna's and more its own thing: a Main Street of independents, specialty food shops that outclass their size, and Cherry Lane covering the mall tier.
