About Ramada Inn & Suites
Anyone driving into the South Okanagan for a tournament, a wedding or a week of beach days needs a base close to everything without sitting in the middle of it. Ramada Inn & Suites occupies 1050 West Eckhardt Avenue in Penticton, on the flat land between Okanagan Lake at the north end of town and Skaha Lake at the south. Both shorelines are a short drive away, and the shops and restaurants of the Main Street core are closer still.
Chain hotels differ more than the sign out front suggests, and the differences are the ones worth raising when you telephone the front desk. Room types range from standard queens to larger suites with a kitchenette, and so does everything around them: whether breakfast is included, whether there is a pool, how parking works for a truck and trailer, and what the pet policy allows. Penticton fills hard through July and August, so the room you want in shoulder season may simply not exist in high summer.
Book early for anything between the mid-August Peach Festival and the end of the warm weather, and be candid about what the trip is for. A family that wants to walk to the channel float has different needs from a contractor working out of Oliver or Osoyoos for a fortnight. Rates across the valley swing widely with the season, so a call or a look at the website before you commit is time well spent, particularly for a stay of more than a couple of nights.

Where to shop in Penticton: small, walkable and mostly local
Penticton's shopping is smaller than Kelowna's and more its own thing: a Main Street of independents, specialty food shops that outclass their size, and Cherry Lane covering the mall tier.
