About Blackwood Lane Winery
Vineyards climb the slopes on both sides of the valley around Penticton, and the terraces immediately above the city are close enough that a visit need not swallow a whole day. Blackwood Lane Winery is at 134 Lower Bench Road, on the rising ground where the land steps up away from the lake just beyond the downtown grid.
Wineries in British Columbia are not interchangeable stops. Some are set up for walk-in tasting, some take reservations only, some hold a licence for food or a picnic area and some sell bottles across a counter and leave it at that. Group sizes are often capped. The season matters as well, since visiting patterns in the valley collapse toward summer and plenty of tasting rooms narrow their access between November and spring. Working out what is possible before you arrive is simply how touring here is done now.
The phone number is +1-604-728-6784 and there is more at blackwoodlane.ca. General advice for anyone touring the benches: agree on a driver first, keep the number of stops modest, and leave real road time between them, because these are narrow rural routes shared with cyclists and farm traffic. Penticton sits close by for a meal afterwards, and being back among the downtown blocks within minutes of leaving the vines keeps the whole outing to a manageable afternoon.
