Not every pub in the Okanagan is chasing the wine-tour crowd, and the ones that anchor a working community tend to be the more comfortable for it. Woody's Pub holds an address at 9882 97 Hwy in Winfield, sharing the building with one other operation, right on the corridor that carries the district's traffic between Kelowna and Vernon.
Winfield is the practical centre of Lake Country, the part with the schools and the shops, so a pub here sits in the flow of ordinary days rather than off at a destination. The usual questions are worth asking before you go: whether food service runs all day or only at set hours, whether the room is licensed for families or restricted to adults, and whether there is a patio, since a valley summer makes outdoor seating the best table in the house from June through September. Group bookings and whether a screen is on for game day are the other two things people tend to ring about.
Getting there is straightforward if you are already on the highway, and a shared lot usually means parking is a matter of finding the right end of it. Getting home is the part to plan. The district runs from Carr's Landing in the north down to Okanagan Centre in the south, those distances are real, and nobody walks home from the highway to an acreage up on the benchland. Arrange a driver or a ride before you settle in. After dark in winter this road can turn greasy, which is one more argument for letting somebody else drive.
