A brewery is two businesses stacked together: a production floor with tanks, a mash tun and a packaging line, and a room out front where people drink what comes off it. Lake Country Brewing sits at 10058 Highway 97 in Winfield, in a building it shares with one other business.
Taprooms attached to a brewhouse work to their own rules in British Columbia, with food service, growler fills and off sales all governed separately from a straightforward pub licence. That makes the practical questions worth asking directly: whether food is served or can be brought in, whether cans and growlers leave with you, and whether minors are welcome at a table. Brewers also rotate what is on tap far more quickly than a pub does, so something you liked last month may well have been replaced by the time you come back.
Highway 97 is the spine of the district, carrying everything between Kelowna and Vernon straight through Winfield, and parking along that stretch is the usual mix of shared lots and short access roads. Wood Lake and its public beaches are minutes away, which puts this within reach of an afternoon on the water. Lake Country runs quiet through winter and busy from June onward, and taproom hours in the valley tend to follow that curve, so checking current hours before setting out saves a wasted trip in from Oyama or the north end of the district.
