About Turtle Bay Pub
Between Wood Lake and the highway, Woodsdale Road serves the working middle of Lake Country, and Turtle Bay Pub keeps an address along it at 2850, on the Okanagan Centre side of the district. Neighbourhood pubs in this valley draw a mixed crowd by the hour: trades finishing a shift in the afternoon, families in the early evening, and in summer whoever has spent the day on the water and wants to sit down out of the sun.
What a pub actually offers varies more than the single word suggests. Some run a full kitchen and treat the food as the main event, others lean on the taps, the bar and the screens. Patios matter enormously in this part of British Columbia, where the warm stretch from June to September is long and reliably dry, so it is fair to ask whether there is outdoor seating and whether any of it is covered. Other things worth checking by phone: whether minors are welcome on the dining side, whether a large table can be held, and how late the kitchen runs compared with the bar.
Wood Lake beaches are close, and the water draws a steady run of boaters and swimmers right through the warmer months. If you are cycling in, ask about somewhere to lock a bike. If you are driving in from Oyama or Carr's Landing, remember that the district has nothing much in the way of late-night transit, so sort out a ride home before the first round rather than after the last one.

Lake Country neighbourhoods explained: four communities, one municipality
Lake Country is a district municipality that never quite merged: Winfield does the shopping, Oyama farms the isthmus, Okanagan Centre climbs the Camp Road wine slopes and Carr's Landing keeps to itself.
