About Switch Cafe
Every working downtown runs on a handful of coffee counters, and Kelowna's core is no exception. Switch Cafe is at 1561 Ellis Street, a block back from the waterfront in the part of downtown where the offices, the civic buildings and the restaurants all sit within a few minutes of one another.
Cafes in a city centre serve several crowds at once, and the one you belong to determines what matters. If you are grabbing something on the way to an appointment, speed and the length of the morning queue are the whole story. If you are sitting down to work, you care about tables, outlets and whether the room is quiet enough to think in. If you are meeting someone, seating is the question. None of that is visible from the street, so a look through the door before you commit to a chair is time well spent.
The cafe can be reached at 236-420-1358, and it appears on the Uber Eats platform if you would rather have an order brought to you than walk over. Downtown foot traffic swings hard with the season here, thin and local through the winter, heavy from June once the waterfront fills, and the mid morning stretch is generally the calmest part of any day. Parking on Ellis turns over steadily, though the lots a block or two inland are simpler if you are driving in from Glenmore or the Mission rather than walking from a nearby building.
