About Mountain Warehouse
Outdoor gear sells well in a valley where the lake and the ridges are both fifteen minutes from most front doors. Mountain Warehouse trades from 2271 Harvey Avenue, an address shared with dozens of other businesses because it belongs to the large shopping centre anchoring this stretch of the Highway 97 corridor in Kelowna.
Shops in the outdoor and sporting line tend to sit somewhere on a scale between clothing and equipment, and knowing where one sits saves a wasted trip. Jackets, base layers, fleece, footwear and packs are the common ground. Beyond that, some carry camping hardware, some stock trail and travel accessories, and very few handle everything. Sizing is the other thing worth planning around, since outdoor fits run differently from street clothing and a boot bought in a hurry is rarely a boot you keep. Calling 250-980-7952 ahead of a specific errand is the sensible move, and the shopping centre's own site carries a page for the store.
Because the shop sits inside a mall, the parking, entrances and surrounding hours follow the building rather than the unit, and the lot is large enough that it is worth noting which door you came in by. Harvey Avenue traffic is heaviest late in the afternoon and through the summer, when highway trips and city trips share the same lanes. Coming down from Black Mountain or in from Lake Country, the approach along the highway is direct but slow at peak, and the Dilworth side streets behind the centre help when the frontage is jammed. Autumn and early spring are the quiet stretches here.
