About Fresh Healthy Cafe
Bernard Avenue is downtown Kelowna's main street, a run of restaurants, shops and offices stepping down toward the waterfront parks on the lake. Fresh Healthy Cafe is at 269 Bernard Avenue, in a building it shares with another business, which is ordinary along a downtown street where one address often covers more than one door.
A cafe style eating place in the core lives largely on the lunch trade, and the useful questions are about format rather than food. Is it counter service or table service, is there room to sit at midday, does the kitchen do takeaway for people heading back to a desk, and can a group be seated without notice. Menus in this line of work tend to move with what is available, and in the Okanagan that swings hard with the growing season, so what was on a month ago may not be on this week.
Downtown parking is the thing to plan for. The blocks around Bernard fill through the working day and again on summer evenings, when visitors add to the resident crowd, but there are lots a street or two back and the whole core is walkable once you have left the car. Coming from Pandosy or the Lower Mission it is a straight run north along the lake; from Rutland or Glenmore, allow for the Harvey crossing at the wrong time of day. Anyone already in the core for the offices, the museums or the parks can reach this address on foot in a few minutes.
