About Dandy Diva
Small jewellery shops trade on relationships rather than volume. What you get from one is time. Someone will look at a ring that no longer fits, talk through what can be reset and what is better remade, and give you a straight answer about whether a repair is worth the cost of the labour. That kind of conversation is hard to have through a screen.
This one sits at 3005 Pandosy Street, in the village stretch of the Pandosy district south of downtown. It is a walkable pocket of low rise shops close to the beaches and the apartment blocks along the lake, the sort of street where people run several errands on foot rather than driving between them. Summer brings heavy foot traffic through here, and the side streets tighten up accordingly once the weather turns warm.
A few things are worth knowing before you go. Ask what work is done on site and what is sent away, because sizing, restringing, stone tightening and full custom pieces are handled very differently from one shop to the next, and the answer changes the turnaround. If you are leaving something sentimental for repair, ask for a written description of the piece at the counter. For an engagement ring or a gift with a date attached, start earlier than feels necessary, since custom work and stone ordering both take time. And if you need a valuation for insurance, check whether that is offered here or whether an appraiser elsewhere in the city is the better route.
