About Rodee Homestay
Visitors reach the west side for all sorts of reasons: a wedding on a vineyard terrace, a week at the beach, a house hunt, a stretch of work in the valley, or family who moved out here and now have everybody coming to them. Accommodation along this shore fills quickly through the warm months, and the choice is not only between chain hotels on a highway.
Rodee Homestay is at 886 Stevenson Road in Lakeview Heights, on the benches above Okanagan Lake, with the Boucherie vineyards and their tasting rooms close by, the beaches and shoreline walkway at Gellatly Bay a few minutes downhill, and the bridge into Kelowna a short drive away. Enquiries go to +1-250-575-0752, and there is more at rodeehomestay.ca.
Homestay accommodation works differently from a hotel, and it is worth knowing how before you book. Rooms are few, so dates go early in summer, and the arrangements around kitchens, laundry, parking and shared living space differ from one house to another. Ask about arrival and departure times, whether there is a minimum stay in peak season, how many guests a room takes, and whether the parking suits a larger vehicle or a boat trailer, which matters more here than it would in a city. Ask too about the walk or the drive to whatever brought you over, since the hillside streets above the lake are steeper than they look on a map.

The best time for stand-up paddleboarding in West Kelowna: Gellatly Bay and the west shore
The west side of Okanagan Lake paddles differently from Kelowna's side: less boat traffic, more afternoon shade off the mountains, and one bay that does most of the work. When Gellatly Bay is at its flattest.
