About Pet Planet
Pets come with a standing shopping list that does not pause for the season. Food runs out, litter runs out, and a dog that has chewed through a harness needs a new one before the next walk. Pet Planet is at 1135 Stevens Road in Lakeview Heights, sharing the address with three other businesses, on +1 778 755 2242, with more at https://cart.shoppetplanet.ca/shop_home/102156.
Lakeview Heights sits on the benches above Okanagan Lake, threaded between vineyard blocks, with Rose Valley and its regional park trails to the west and the shoreline walkway at Gellatly Bay below. It is good dog country, and the west side generally is, with hillside neighbourhoods that have ravines and parks at the doorstep and a lake at the bottom of the hill. That has an obvious bearing on what people need from a shop like this, from long lines and lake gear in summer to paw care when the hill roads are salted in winter.
Pet supply stores vary in what they stock and in what they do beyond stocking. Food ranges may run to raw, frozen and veterinary diets or stay with dry and canned, and the depth on small animal, bird, reptile and aquarium supplies differs a great deal from one shop to another. Some run loyalty programs, some deliver locally, some carry services in store and some do not. If you feed something specific and cannot easily switch, a call to confirm the bag size and formula before driving over is the sensible move, and asking about special orders is worth doing in the same breath.

The best time for stand-up paddleboarding in West Kelowna: Gellatly Bay and the west shore
The west side of Okanagan Lake paddles differently from Kelowna's side: less boat traffic, more afternoon shade off the mountains, and one bay that does most of the work. When Gellatly Bay is at its flattest.
