About point S
Tires are the part of a vehicle people think about last and rely on most, and at this end of the Okanagan they get tested properly. Vernon sits far enough north in the valley to have real winter, with a ski hill on the skyline and hill roads above the city that hold snow long after the flat has cleared. point S works from 5640 Anderson Way in the Swan Lake area at the northern edge of town.
Two dates drive this trade. In late autumn everyone remembers their winter tires at once, and in spring everyone wants them off again, so booking a week or two ahead of the rush is the difference between an appointment and a wait. Worth asking when you call: whether off season tires can be stored, what a seasonal changeover costs against a full set on separate rims, and how long the job takes if you plan to wait for it. British Columbia requires proper winter tires on many mountain routes through the cold months, which is not a detail to leave until you are already climbing toward a pass.
The Swan Lake side of the city is a natural home for this kind of work. It is the northern gateway, wrapped around the shallow lake and its nature reserve, mixing market gardens with commerce and highway frontage, and it catches traffic coming down from Armstrong and the north end of the valley before it reaches the downtown core. Access and parking are easier out here than on the numbered streets. Coming from East Hill or the Landing the drive is longer, but an early appointment beats fighting afternoon highway traffic.
