About Brexit Pub
Every town keeps a couple of rooms where the point is the room itself rather than the food, somewhere a person can sit with a pint and a conversation without being hurried along. Brexit Pub occupies 69 Nanaimo Ave, one of the cross streets running off Main in the downtown core, a block or two back from the busiest stretch of sidewalk.
Side street bars tend to behave differently from the places on the main drag. They pick up the after work trade, the people who work in the core, and whoever has come off the beach and walked a block inland to get out of the sun. Penticton swells with visitors through the summer, and the difference between a July evening and a February one in a room like this is dramatic. Both versions draw a different crowd, and which one suits you depends on what you are looking for on a given night.
Useful things to ask before turning up with a group: whether the room is nineteen and over throughout, whether food is served and until when, whether there is a patio, and how a table of eight on short notice is handled. Downtown is compact enough that a bar here sits within a short walk of restaurants, the beach at the north end and, for anyone staying in the core, a bed. That arrangement is exactly what makes an evening out in a small city easy to organise and easy to get home from.
