About Walnut Beach Resort
Few Canadian towns are as plainly built around one body of water as Osoyoos, where the lake is the centrepiece and the beaches ring it from end to end. Walnut Beach Resort takes an address on that shoreline at 4200 Lakeshore Drive, inside the compact downtown where the sand, the restaurants and the places to stay all sit within a few minutes of each other.
The useful questions to put to a lakeshore property are practical ones. What does a given unit include, and how many people does it sleep comfortably rather than technically? Is there a kitchen, and is there laundry? How do the check in and check out times fall against a long drive? What happens to a booking if plans change, and how far ahead does the cancellation window close? In a town where summer is the whole business, the answers can be firmer in July than in October, and knowing that before you book removes most of the friction later. It also pays to ask what is running on site during the dates you have in mind, because seasonal towns do not keep everything going year round.
Reservations and questions can go through 250-495-5400. Beyond the beach, Osoyoos offers the most unusual country in the valley to explore: dry benches planted to vines, orchards along the flats, and pockets of antelope brush scrub that exist almost nowhere else in Canada. The border crossing sits close to town, which is why the main street carries more through traffic than the population would suggest. Give yourself an afternoon away from the water and the town starts to make sense as a place rather than a beach.

Osoyoos neighbourhoods explained: one main street, four zones
Osoyoos lists a single official neighbourhood because the town is one long street between lake and desert; locals still sort themselves into four zones: beach front, motel strip, hillside and the mountain above.
