About Reddhart Workwear
Construction follows growth in the Okanagan, and growth in Kelowna has been steady, which keeps a great many people in boots and high visibility gear five days a week. Reddhart Workwear trades from 1835 Dilworth Dr, on the side of the city where the hillside neighbourhoods wrapping Dilworth Mountain meet the commercial ground below them.
Workwear is bought differently from ordinary clothing. Fit is decided by what goes underneath it and what hangs off it, durability matters more than cut, and a good part of the range exists to satisfy a site requirement rather than a preference. Shops in this line generally cover trousers and coveralls, jackets and layers, high visibility garments, gloves and headwear, often with footwear alongside. Before you go, know what your site demands: the visibility class, whether flame resistant fabric is required, and what toe and plate rating your boots need. Ask about hemming and alterations, and ask whether a crew order can be arranged so a whole team ends up in matching gear.
The valley climate makes this a two wardrobe problem. Summers here are hot and dry, and long days outdoors turn sun protection, breathability and light coloured fabric into safety equipment rather than comfort. Winter is short and mostly grey rather than deeply snowy on the valley floor, so wind and wet matter more than hard cold for most of it, though anyone working up on the ridges above Rutland and Black Mountain will want the warmer layer sitting in the truck. Buying for both seasons in one go usually costs less than replacing gear in a hurry.
