About Pür & Simple
A grey Kelowna morning is exactly the kind of weather that fills a breakfast room, and a cold or rainy start tends to bring in more of a crowd than a clear one. Pur and Simple is at 1575 Banks Road, on one of the streets set back from Harvey Avenue in the Dilworth area, sharing its address with another business.
Rooms that serve the morning tend to fill in waves. A weekday can be quiet at nine and full at seven, when the trades and the commuters come through, while a Sunday builds toward a long wait somewhere between ten and noon and then empties fast. Turning up on either side of that window is the simplest way to avoid standing in a doorway. Larger groups are the harder case, since many breakfast rooms seat first come rather than by reservation, so a call to ask how they handle a table of eight is worth making before everyone drives across town.
The position is convenient in a practical rather than a scenic way. Banks Road sits in the middle of Kelowna's commercial belt, minutes from Harvey Avenue and the shopping that lines it, which makes it an easy meeting point for people coming from opposite ends of a long city. Rutland is a short run to the northeast, Glenmore lies west, the Mission runs south along the lake, and none of those trips involves the bridge. Parking away from the main road is generally straightforward, and unlike the downtown blocks in July, a summer morning here does not mean circling for a space before you can think about eating.
