About Inspired Eyes Creative Eyewear
Frames are the part of eye care people actually live with, sitting on your face every waking hour, and choosing badly turns into a year long irritation. Inspired Eyes Creative Eyewear is found on Pandosy Street in downtown Kelowna, sharing its address with one other business, along the corridor that runs south from the core toward the lakeside village blocks.
Fitting eyewear is more technical than a wall of frames suggests. Pupillary distance, the height of the optical centre, the wrap and tilt of a frame and the vertex distance all change how a lens performs, and progressive lenses in particular are unforgiving of a sloppy fit. Beyond that sit choices about lens material, index and thickness, anti reflective and scratch coatings, blue filtering, photochromic tints and polarisation. Bringing a current prescription and your existing glasses gives whoever is helping a useful starting point, and it is entirely fair to ask what the adaptation period should feel like and what happens if a progressive never quite settles.
Light is the local factor here. The Okanagan gets long clear summers, and the glare coming off the lake is strong enough that decent sunglasses are less of a luxury than they look, whether that means prescription sun lenses, clip ons or a second pair. Winters are short and grey, but low sun on a wet road is its own hazard. If you are coming in for a pickup or an adjustment, downtown parking is metered and a short walk from a side street lot is usually faster than hunting for a spot out front.
