About Discovery Bay Resort
Waterfront lodging on Sunset Drive puts you at the northern edge of downtown Kelowna, where the city frontage meets the lake and the older blocks of the North End begin. It is a short walk into the offices and restaurants of the core in one direction, and into a district of light industrial sheds slowly filling with makers, studios and cafes in the other.
You will find it at 1088 Sunset Drive, with a phone line at +1-250-860-7368 and detail online at kelownaresortaccommodations.com. The position is a genuine advantage in a city that spreads out as much as this one does. The waterfront boardwalk, the downtown marina and the parks are all close by, and most of what visitors come to Kelowna for can be reached without moving the car until the day you drive out to the vineyards.
A few things are worth clarifying before booking. Resort style properties on the lake often mix nightly stays with much longer ones, so ask about minimum stays and what the rate actually covers, especially at the height of summer. Ask how parking is arranged, since downtown lots and underground stalls are not always included. Ask which amenities are open in the season you are visiting, because what a lakeside property offers in October is rarely what it offers in July. If you are towing a boat, ask early about moorage. And book well ahead for anything between the May long weekend and the end of September, when the whole valley is at its fullest.
